KIMBERLEY: THURSDAY, 14 JULY 2022- Four suspects are expected to appear in the Britstown Magistrates' Court soon on counts of dealing in drugs respectively following their arrest in Britstown.
The suspects were apprehended in the early hours of Thursday,14 July 2022 when a multi-disciplinary team comprised of the Northern Cape Provincial Crime Intelligence (CI), Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation(DPCI),De Aar Public Order Police(POP), De Aar Local Criminal Record Centre(LCRC), Colesberg Visible Police (Vispol) and De Aar K9 unit, simultaneously searched the suspects’ premises in Nood Kamp informal settlement and New Extension, Umzwabantu in Britstown.
A 30-year-old male suspect was found in possession of thirty eight (38) full mandrax tablets, eighteen (18) halves of mandrax tablets and Chrystal Meth.
Two cellphones which were found in possession of the suspect were also confiscated.
The team seized ten(10) full mandrax tablets, three(3) halves of mandrax, ten(10) quarters of mandrax tablets, one(1) plastic medium size bank plastic of Chrystal Meth, thirty(30) small size zip lock plastic bags of Chrystal Meth, three(3) bulb straws, two(2) scales including cash to the value of R3 110,50.00 believed to be the proceeds of drug dealing.
Three female suspects aged 19,22 and 23 were arrested.
The Northern Cape Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major General Kolisa Otola, applauded members for a successful multi-disciplinary operation.
