NORTH WEST – Klaas Avontuur (20) made a brief appearance before the Klerksdorp Magistrates' Court following his arrest on Tuesday for dealing and possession of drugs.
The accused was arrested at his house in Alabama after members of the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation, assisted by member of K9 found him in possession of Crystal Meth, Mandrax and Goof worth approximately R10 800.
He appeared before the Klerksdorp Magistrates' Court where he was released on R800 bail and the matter was postponed to 15 September 2022 for further investigation.
Meanwhile on Monday, Chekhuemeli Anyaegbu (44) and Virginia Motswadira (28) were arrested in Orkney after they were found driving around with packets of Crystal Meth worth approximately R5000 and R6348 in cash. They appeared before the Orkney Magistrates’ Court where the matter was postponed to 25 July 2022 for formal bail application
The drugs, money and the vehicle were seized for further investigation.
