CAPE TOWN: THREE HIRED KILLERS OF TYGERBERG POST OFFICE REGIONAL MANAGER SLAPPED WITH LIFE SENTENCES
Despite spending six years behind bars with the case on trial, Judge Gamble has handed down life sentences to the gun-toting accused who shot and killed in execution-style at point blank range Pasika Kwaza at his home in 2016, thanks to the sterling job of D\Sgt Isaac Tshabalala.
The sentencing took place at the Western Cape High Court on Friday 22 July 2022 where the state counsel, Advocate Phindile Sityatha has asked the court to give all the accused life sentences including the wife of the victim who was accused number one in the case.
The trio which include Loyiso Ludidi, Thando Chwayi and Sivuyile Shasha were hired by the wife of the victim to end his life where an amount of R40 000 was paid for them for the murder.
The 43-year old wife Namhla Kwaza who was also found guilty was slapped for the crime with Judge Gamble indicated that she had carefully planned the murder had been slapped with 12 direct imprisonment much to the surprise of the deceased family.
Other additional charges that the accused, Shasha and Ludidi were convicted of were both received 15 years for robbery with aggravated circumstances, 3 years for illegal possession of firearm and 18 months for illegal possession of ammunitions and their cases with run concurrently with life sentences.
Spokesperson for the family, Themba Hena has praised the work of D\Sgt Tshabalala who he said he was constantly briefing the family about the developments of the case.
However he said he was devastated that the wife of the victim has not been slapped with murder as he believed she was a mastermind and had robbed them of their brother.
