DURBAN: 27 October 2022 – Yesterday, Malvern police received a report of a suspicious person on Vausedale Road in Northdene.
Police proceeded to the scene where a person was seen inside a vacant building. An unknown man was found stealing copper pipes from the building that belonged to Prasa. Prasa officials were also called out to the scene and identified the copper as belonging to them.
The suspect (39) was placed under arrest for tampering and damaging essential infrastructure as well as for theft of copper pipes. He will be appearing before the Pinetown Magistrates' Court this morning.
