Members of Maitland detectives and the City Of Cape Town SSIU joined forces to combat crime.
The members of Maitland detectives under WO Pritchard and the members of the City Of Cape Town safety and security investigation unit team under Mr W House joined forces to trace suspects wanted for various crimes.
The joint team successfully arrested five suspects for various crimes across the peninsula. The team went into areas such as Mitchells Plain and Lavender Hill to arrest the suspects who were wanted for Damaging essential infrastructure, Theft, Robbery and Domestic Violence cases.
2 Employees of the City Of Cape Town were arrested in the process for stealing computers from their depo were they were employed. As a result service delivery of the C3 notices that members of the public submit for illegal dumping or electrical faults were hampered. Once charged the suspects will be appearing in the Cape Town Magistrates' Court on 2023/01/20.
They also acted as a visible deterrent to crime in the areas that they operated.
