Nelspruit: 09 May 2023 - Another foreign national from the kingdom of Eswatini, aged 36 was nabbed at Carolina for alleged dealing in dagga.
Police members from Ermelo K9 Unit received information about a grey Mercedes Benz trafficking dagga and the vehicle is said to have been travelling from Badplaas (R38) to Carolina. Police responded to the information and they spotted the car fitting the description as given. The vehicle was then stopped at the Carolina railway line whereby the driver was approached and the vehicle searched. That was when a black plastic bag stashed with dagga weighing about 6.665 kilograms was discovered. The recovered dagga is estimated to be at the street value of about R15 000. The suspect was immediately arrested and charged for dealing in drugs.
Reuben Elisha Dlamini already appeared in the Carolina Magistrate’s Court today, 09 March 2023 where he pleaded guilty. He was then sentenced to five years direct imprisonment with an option of R10 000 fine.
The Acting Provincial Commissioner of Mpumalanga, Major General Zeph Mkhwanazi has thanked members of the community for providing such information to the police who swiftly responded and arrested the suspect.
