Kimberley : 09 March 2023 : Donald Kgobe(36 ) was recently sentenced to 10 years direct imprisonment for rape in Augrabies.
On 29 December 2018 at about 04:00 the 27 year old female victim was walking down Stof Street in Augrabies, when she was accosted by the accused. He forcefully took her to an abandoned compound, pinned her to the ground and raped her.
The accused was arrested on 31 December 2019 and bail was successfully opposed by police. Donald Kgobe was recently sentenced in the Kakamas Regional Court to 10 years for rape.
The Provincial Head for Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences, Brig Sipho Kheswa commended Sgt Rhyno Visagie for his meticulous investigation that led to this good sentence.
