WESTERN CAPE: 23 JULY 2023 -The vigilance of police members whilst on duty resulted in the recovery of a hijacked vehicle in Gugulethu on Sunday, 2023-07-23. Early this morning members attached to K9 Cape Town were on the lookout for a silver Mercedes Benz that was reported as hijacked at Gugulethu SAPS in a July 2023 case. They were patrolling Gugulethu area when they came in Ntlanganisela Close, Gugulethu where they spotted the vehicle. They then approached the vehicle and arrested five suspects aged between 23 and 34.
When the members searched the vehicle and occupants they also found and confiscated two imitation firearms. The suspects was detained at Gugulethu SAPS on charges of possession of a hijacked vehicle and possession of imitation firearms.
Once charged the suspects are expected to make their court appearance in the Athlone Magistrates' court on the mentioned charge.
