Nelspruit: 02 August 2023 - A 33-year-old Siyabonga Mlambo has appeared before the Emalahleni Magistrate’s Court today, 02 August 2023 for allegedly killing another man after suspicions that he was having an affair with his wife. The murder is said to have occurred at Extension 9, Kwa-Guxa in Vosman near Witbank. He has been remanded in custody until 10 August, 2023 for a formal bail application. According to information, on 31 July 2023 the wife reportedly had an argument with her estranged husband, she decided to report the matter to the police as she previously obtained a protection order against him. Police reportedly attended to the matter, however he was not found by the members at home.
It is further alleged that the wife went to at a certain house nearby and her husband reportedly came then found the man he alleges to be having an affair with his wife. A fight reportedly broke out between the husband and the said man and at that moment, the woman went home, leaving nehind the two fighting. It is suspected that during the fight, the man was stabbed by the husband then succumbed to his injuries.
Police as well as Emergency Medical Personnel were summoned to the scene where the victim was unfortunately certified dead. The male suspects (husband) handed himself over to the police and he was arrested as well as charged for murder hence his court appearance today (02 August 2023).
The Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela has made a clarion call on members of the community that are confronted with social problems, to seek professional help rather than resorting to physical violence which often ends in disaster.
