POLICE IN PURSUIT OF SUSPECTS WHO MURDERED A WIFE IN A HOUSE ROBBERY AND KIDNAPPING SAGA IN KWAMHLANGA

Nelspruit: 18 October 2023 - The Police are in pursuit of suspects after a teacher, Ms Rose Mahlangu (58) was brutally murdered by three men who forcefully took her from home in Phola Park, Kwamhlanga on Monday night, 16 October 2023 at about 19h00.

According to information, the three armed suspects stormed into a certain house and found the woman's husband sitting inside a car which was at the garage. It is said that they (suspects) forced him into the house at gunpoint then tied him up whilst they ransacked the house. In the process, they allegedly took two cell phones.

It is further said that the man's wife (Ms Rose Mahlangu) arrived home at that moment, in a Ford Everest SUV whilst the suspects were still busy in the house. It was during this time when suspects dashed out, forced the woman into her car then drove off with her.

The matter was reported to the Police and the vehicle was later recovered during the same night. Sadly, the following morning, Tuesday 17 October 2023 the lifeless body of Ms Mahlangu was found with a gunshot wound, dumped next to the road. She was unfortunately certified dead by the paramedics.

Meanwhile in the same area on that Monday night (16 October 2023) two other houses were attacked by three armed suspects who shot a female teacher (37) in the leg and robbed her by forcing her to transfer an undisclosed amount of cash from her bank account. These suspects also took her laptop and cell phones. A male victim, aged 34 was also robbed of cash by three armed suspects, but was left unharmed.

The suspects on all these incidents are still at large and a team of investigators has been assembled to probe hence a manhunt was launched. No one has been arrested thus far. Police urge anyone with information that may assist in apprehending the perpetrators to call the Crime Stop number at 08600 10111 or send information via MYSAPSAPP.
