SAFER FESTIVE SEASON OPERATIONS CONTINUES TO REMOVE DRUGS FROM COMMUNITIES IN FRANCES BAARD DISTRICT: KIMBERLEY

Kimberley - Friday, 05 January 2024: The determination of members to eradicate drugs from our communities resulted in the arrest of three male suspects for illegal dealing in drugs in Galeshewe.

A collaborative approach, involving Kimberley Public Order Police and Crime Intelligence  was executed in Galeshewe on Thursday, 04 January 2024. The members responded, operationalised the information and searched the identified premises.

The team recovered 2.6 kg of loose dagga with an estimated street value of R 34 580.00, 1.75 kg of dagga pokes with an estimated street value of  R 5 250.00. Six cell phones and cash believed to be the proceeds of crime was confiscated. Two male suspects aged 32 and 36 were arrested.

The team persevered and their continues searches led to the seizure of loose dagga with an estimated street value of R 1 650.00, ten pokes of dagga and cash believed to be the proceeds of crime. A third male suspect aged 27 years old was arrested.

The three suspects will appear in the Galeshewe  Magistrates Court soon.

The Northern Cape Provincial Head of Operational Response Services, Brigadier Monica Sebili applauded the  members for their integrated approach on clamping down on drug related crimes.
