The Youth Crime Prevention Desk in ZF Mgcawu District held a two day youth outreach programme in Kakamas from 23-24 February 2024 led by the Provincial Secretary of the  Youth Crime Prevention Desk, Mr Vusi Nongonyothi and the District Chair person , Ms Rozanne Van Wyk.

It all started with 100 learners from different locations at Langverwacht High School on Friday, 23 February 2024 with a dialogue.

They deliberated on topics including GBVF, Unplanned Teenage Pregnancy, Alcohol and Drug abuse. They were divided into commissions where they discussed and subsequently presented to the audience.

On Saturday, 24 February 2024 they continued with a sports against crime event in Lutzburg soccer field where young people mostly between the ages 11 and 18 participated in soccer and netball tournaments.

The winning teams were awarded with bronze medals and the players of the tournament received gold medals.

The Station Commander of Kakamas, Colonel Dries Witbooi appreciated district coordinators for the initiative, the contribution by the CPF Chairperson ,  Mr Clement Baai, as the umbrella structure   and everyone else who participated and assisted towards the success of the event.


Youth outreach programme in Kakamas
