(SAPS) is not responsible for the content or reliability of linked web sites and does not necessarily endorse the views expressed within them. Listing shall not be taken as endorsement of any kind. (SAPS) cannot guarantee that these links will work all of the time and has no control over the availability of the linked sites or pages.

Some basic considerations for inclusion in terms and conditions:
(first, define “user”)

  • May the user view, download, print and publish the info on the web site?
  • May the info be utilized only for educational and informational purposes, or commercial purposes too?
  • May the whole article be copied, or only parts thereof?
  • May articles be summarized?
  • Must SAPS/Journal-on-Line be acknowledged, or only the original main contributor(communication official), or both?
  • Must the citing of info include the original date of publication/date of sourcing?
  • How are intellectual property rights and domain name use going to be protected?
NB:

Users may not deliver or attempt to deliver, whether on purpose or negligently, any damaging code, such as computer viruses, to this web site or the server and computer network that support the web site. Notwithstanding criminal persecution, any person who delivers any damaging code to the web site, whether on purpose or negligently, shall, without any limitation, indemnify and hold (SAPS/Journal-on-Line) harmless against any and all liability, damages and losses (SAPS / Journal-on-Line ) and its affiliates may suffer as a result of such damaging code.

Any user who commits any of the offences detailed in sections 85 to 88 of the ECT Act shall, notwithstanding criminal prosecution, be liable for all resulting liability, loss or damages suffered and/or incurred by (SAPS / Journal-on-Line ) and its affiliates.
