Directorate for Priority Crimes Investigation (HAWKS)

PRETORIA - The suspect that was arrested on 29 April 2026 will be appearing in the Hatfield Magistrate's Court, this morning, 04 May 2026 for impersonating State Security Agency (SSA) employee.

It is reported that the members of Tactical Operations Management Section (TOMS) followed up information received and subsequently applied for a search and seizure warrant which was executed on 29 April 2026. Initial investigation has revealed that he is purported to be extorting businesses around Pretoria. Upon a search, the Hawk’s found two appointment cards from SSA.

Further investigation is continuing.
