EASTERN CAPE - A 34-year-old male suspect was arrested last night after he stabbed an 84-year-old female to death in Needs Camp East London.

It is alleged that the suspect went to the deceased's place shouting and insulting her that she is a witch. The deceased was in her bedroom with grandchildren when the suspect entered and stabbed the deceased with a screw driver on her upper body. He further pulled her to the ground and continued kicking her face and head.

One of the grandchildren got a chance to get out and raised an alarm to the community. Local people came to intervene by taking the screw driver, tied up the suspect and contacted the police. The community members organized a transport and took the victim to Frere Hospital where she passed on.
