WESTERN CAPE - Following a shooting incident at the Joe Slovo taxi rank, Milnerton on 22 September 2021, a 41-year-old suspect was arrested by police on Monday, 27 September 2021. He is expected to appear in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court on today. The suspect, from the Nyanga area, was arrested by detectives from the Provincial Taxi Violence Unit who also seized a firearm during the arrest.

Three persons were killed on the scene and a fourth victim died in hospital after sustaining serious gunshot wounds during the shooting incident. Indications at the crime scene were that the shooting was linked to conflict within the taxi industry.

The suspect is facing murder and attempted murder charges.
