Media Statement CAPE TOWN - In response to recent gun violence and the tragic loss of lives in Lwandle, heightened policing measures have been implemented in key areas. These efforts led to the arrest of five suspects and the seizure of five firearms during an operation this afternoon at around 16:00. While investigations are ongoing, the suspects, aged between 29 and 42, will face court proceedings for the illegal possession of firearms once formally charged. Further charges may be added as ballistic testing is conducted on the confiscated weapons. SAPS remains committed to safeguarding communities and will continue to carry out these operations with determination, ensuring criminals are brought to justice. Ends
