Media Statement GQEBERHA – Thorough investigations by SAPS Motherwell detectives led to the successful apprehension of an alleged murder suspect. It is alleged that during the early hours of Monday morning, 22 August 2022, a group of males had an argument over bread and meat at a tavern in NU11, Motherwell. It is alleged that a fight broke out between the parties in which one of the males was stabbed multiple times and the other male’s ear was cut off. The victims were taken to the Motherwell Health Centre for medical treatment after which a 30 year-old man, Sinetemba Peter passed away due to the nature of his injuries. Detectives worked around the clock to trace the suspect and on Tuesday, 23 August 2022, a 29-year-old male, whose ear was cut off, was arrested at the Motherwell Health Centre. The arrested suspect is expected to appear in the Motherwell magistrate’s court on Thursday, 25 August 2022 on a charge of murder. Ends
