Police in Ekurhuleni District arrested a 40-year-old suspect wanted for murder and robbery in the early hours of Saturday, 01 October 2022 in Daveyton following an intelligence-driven operation.

According to a preliminary report police obtained information on the whereabouts of the suspect who is wanted on a murder and robbery case which is being investigated by SAPS Ogies in Mpumalanga.

A team comprising of members from Ekurhuleni District Crime Intelligence, SAPS Putfontein and Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Tracing Unit proceeded to the identified address at Daveyton Hostel.

A search led the team to recover an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

The suspect is expected to appear before a Magistrates' court soon.
