CAPE TOWN - By participating in efforts to address the root causes of crime, members attached to the Provincial Integrated Team conducted several operations at drug outlets and arrested several suspects for dealing and possession of drugs.

On Monday, 15 March 2021, at about 01:30, members followed up an information which led them to an address in Parow where they confiscated a total of 137 Mandrax tablets with a street value of R9 000 and the subsequent arrest of a 22-year-old suspect.

In the same operation, the members proceeded to an address in Goodwood where they arrested a 33-year-old suspect for dealing in crystal meth with a street value of R1600.

In a separate incident, members also arrested four suspects aged 22, 25, 32 and 37 on Sunday evening at about 21:00 in Comedeboo Street Delft for the possession of tik.

The members operationalized information received about drugs that are being sold and stored on the premises. Upon searching the premises, members recovered and seized the mentioned drugs.

All these suspects are due to appear in court once charged.

The abuse of illegal substances is one of the root causes of violent crime, and the members from the Provincial Integrated Team are lauded for their efforts in removing drugs of the streets.
