Media Statement FREE STATE - Four African males aged between 22 and 44 have been arrested for robbery and theft from motor vehicle. It is alleged that on Tuesday, 14 January 2025, at about 04:23, the Fezile Dabi District Highway Patrol was policing the R59 when they noticed a truck standing next to the road. The members made a U-turn, and while approaching the truck, they noticed five African males running into the veld. The police chased the suspects and managed to arrest one of them. The suspect's getaway car was later spotted near Wonderfontein, where three more suspects were apprehended, and one of the suspects is still at large. The members kept on searching and discovered four truck tyres and rims estimated to the value of R50 000 next to the R57 and the R59. The truck driver and his crew were found locked inside the truck, and their cellphones were robbed.
The four suspects are expected to appear before the Sasolburg Magistrate Court soon.
