Media Statement WESTERN CAPE - The Garden Route District Commissioner, Major General Phumzile Cetyana, congratulated two members from the district who represented the province at the annual National Practical Shooting Championship which was hosted at Gheberha in the Eastern Cape from 10 to 14 March 2025. He met with the members at his office in George where he conveyed appreciation for their dedication and achievement during the championships. The members were part of a group of eight from the Western Cape who participated at the championship. During the competition, Sergeant Charl Botha stationed at the George SAPS competed in the Men’s Category C where he was crowned overall winner, receiving gold in this category. He was also awarded with the SAPS Pistol Marksmanship status. Warrant Officer Peter Waterfall, attached to George Radio Technical achieved gold in Men’s Stage 6 category and silver in the Men’s Category C. Maj Gen Cetyana proudly commended the members for their commitment and efforts leading to these achievements for the province.
