WESTERN CAPE - The endeavours of police members to create safer spaces for the communities they serve resulted in the confiscation of ammunition on Tuesday 04 June 2025. 

Police members deployed in Grassy Park to combat the ongoing gang violence in the area executed a search warrant on the day at an identified  premises in Bella Court, Ottery.  Their persistence were rewarded when they searched the premises and recovered thirty rounds of ammunition hidden underneath a drawer. The female who was present during the search was not in possession of a valid permit to be in possession of the ammunition and therefor detained for the unlawful possession of ammunition.

Once charged, the suspect will make her court appearance in the Wynberg Magistrates’ court on the mentioned charge.
