Suspects arrested during weekend operation, King Williams Town

More than seventy (70) suspects aged between 23 and 46 years were arrested for various cases ranging from possession of mandrax, possession of stolen property, assault, burglary business, rape, malicious damage to property, drink and driving, warrant of arrest, dealing with drugs and murder. Dangerous weapons and laptops were confiscated by Police. All this was done as part of the Festive Season operation were police searched members of the public for dangerous weapons and drugs.  Police also visited ATMs as part of crime prevention around King Williams Town CBD.

These suspects will appear at different Magistrate Courts today and tomorrow.  

King William’s Town Cluster Commander, Brigadier Luntu Ngubelanga, said police will ensure zero tolerance for crime that is occurring in policing precincts and will also ensure that communities live in safe and secure environments. “Police will intensify visibility and will continue with stop and search operations which will result in more dangerous weapons being confiscated,” he added.
