ZFM District Police continues with actions against crime

ZFM DISTRICT - Continuous actions by members of the SAPS in the ZFM District as part of Operation Shanela activities are dealing with crime decisively. Members of Upington Border Police and Upington K9 Unit raided a shop in Upington in conjunction with the brand protectors represented by Spoor and Fischer on Friday, 24 May 2024.

Counterfeit clothing to the value of R 414 700.00 was seized. The owner of the shop was given notice by the brand protectors. The items seized were handed over to the brand protector for further investigation.

Meanwhile, in other operations, members continued to remove drugs from the streets. The members of Rietfontein SAPS confiscated mandrax tablets and arrested a 33-year -old man for Dealing in drugs during an operation on Friday, 24 May 3024.

During the night shift, in the early morning hours, the members of Upington POP Unit were conducting crime prevention patrols when they spotted a suspicious looking man in Upington CBD and stopped to search him. The 23-year-old suspect was found in possession of mandrax tablets to the estimated value of R45 000.00 and an amount of cash. He was arrested for Dealing in drugs. All suspects will appear in court soon.
