NELSPRUIT - The Acting Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Major General (Dr) Zeph Mkhwanazi, has ordered an investigation regarding an incident whereby messages has been circulating on social media regarding members of Witbank SAPS that are allegedly involved in corruption.
The Acting Provincial Commissioner does not take those allegations lightly. A team of investigators has since been assembled to follow-up on the allegations levelled against the members.
Currently, the Acting Provincial Commissioner cannot give detailed information regarding this matter pending investigation.
Information will be released after the detailed report is submitted to the office of the Acting Provincial Commissioner.
Major General (Dr) Mkhwanazi would like the community members to know that the SAPS are committed to uphold the highest standards of conduct within all police ranks, and any officer found to be in violation of these standards will face appropriate disciplinary action.
We urge the community members not to believe everything circulating on social media and await investigations unfold. The integrity and trust of the SAPS are paramount, and we are dedicated to ensuring that justice is served.
