News: Torching of schools condemned by the Gauteng Provincial Commissioner

PARKTOWN - The Gauteng Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Elias Mawela has condemned the burning of schools in Tshwane, after three schools were set alight and two broken into in Soshanguve.

The last school to be burnt is Soshanguve High, in the early hours of this morning.

"The attack and burning of schools will not be tolerated and police will make sure that those who are behind these criminal acts are hunted down and brought to book" said Provincial Commissioner.

Cases of arson and business breaking have been opened for investigation.

The South African Police Service is appealing to the community to come forward with information that could lead to the arrest of the perpetrators by contacting the Crime Stop number 08600 10111 or leave an anonymous tip-off on the MySAPS App.
