The Acting Provincial Commissioner of the Northern Cape, Maj Gen Joey Kers accompanied by the Frances Baard District Commissioner, Maj Gen Johan Bean addressed a joint parade today, 14 July 2021 at the circle in Hulana Street in Galeshewe.

The parade comprised of various SAPS units, Provincial components, members of    Kimberley, Galeshewe, Roodepan and Kagisho police stations, the Sol Plaatjie Traffic Department and the SANDF.

During his addressed Maj Gen Kers thanked the members for their commitment and their efforts in preventing, combatting and safeguarding the citizens of the province during this period of unrest in the country.The police will adopt a zero tolerance approach when it comes to incidents of looting or any form of criminality.

The members were encouraged to remain safe during this period of the COVID-19 pandemic and to adhere to all the protocols.

The parade divided into two groups to conduct convoys moving through hot spot areas in the greater Kimberley to create awareness in an effort to assure and inform the community about the readiness of the joint security forces in any eventuality.

Random stop and searches were also conducted during the actions.

The police issued a stern warning to criminals that they will stamp down the authority of the state during this period.
