Media Statement NORTHERN CAPE - Police members at the Vioolsdrift Border post dealt drug dealers a huge blow after they confiscated heroine that was transported in a taxi during the early hours of Monday, 09 May 2022 across the border. It is alleged that a Toyota Quantum travelling from Namibia was searched at the border post at 00:15, when police members discovered the drugs hidden under the driver’s seat. According to the driver he was requested to deliver the package in Cape Town. The street value of the heroine is estimated at 2 million rand. The arrested male taxi driver from Philipi in Cape Town, aged 30 years old will be appearing in the Springbok Magistrates court soon on a charge of dealing in drugs. The police in the Northern Cape will continue unabatedly to squeeze the space for drug to dealers operate in the province. Ends
