News: Suspect wanted for multiple crimes committed in Waterberg district apprehended

POLOKWANE - A suspect who was wanted for multiple cases has been captured in Vaalwater.

The Police in Vaalwater through a sting investigation conducted by members of Modimolle Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit in collaboration with members of Vaalwater Detective Unit nabbed a 35-year-old male suspect Abel Sello Lefoane on Monday 21 November 2022 for a series of crimes committed within Waterberg District.

The suspect has briefly appeared before the Modimolle Magistrate's Court on Tuesday 22 November 2022 facing charges of five counts for Rapes and two counts for Housebreakings. He was remanded in custody for further investigations.

The court case has been postponed to 01 December 2022 for formal bail application.

The Provincial Commissioner of the police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has applauded the team for their meticulous work done and the restlessness the team has shown in efforts to arrest this long wanted suspect.

"As the Police we need to always put our boots firmly on the ground now and forever to make our communities feel and be safe," Lieutenant General Hadebe said.
