PRETORIA - Police seized counterfeit goods worth over R8 million and arrested 12 undocumented suspects during an integrated takedown operation in Marabastad on Tuesday, 20 February 2024.

The SAPS' National Counterfeit Unit led a team comprising of SAPS members from various specialised units, officials from the Department of Home Affairs (DHA), South African Revenue Services (SARS), Brand Protectors and security officers during this operation.

The operation resulted in the seizure of various counterfeit items such as clothing apparal, shoes, caps and bags.

Just two weeks ago, the team also seized counterfeit goods to the value of R13 million during a takedown operation in the Johannesburg CBD.
