On 02 July 2017 at about 08:10 at Bundu Inn Resort Kwaggafontein, Mpumalanga, the victim was on her way to Matshepo from Moteti walking along the road.  She saw a taxi driving in the direction to Matshepo and stopped it. The taxi driver later changed direction and drove back on the route to Bundu Inn. The taxi driver stopped along the way next to a bush. He allegedly forced the victim out of the taxi and forced her to the ground. The victim was raped and left behind at the scene. An identity kit was constructed.
