On 2014-12-29 at about 23:00 15 suspects entered the building at the Old Mutual Building, Moot Street, Hermanstad, Pretoria. They were allegedly heavily armed with fire-arms and they tied up the security guards, cut open the safe and took an undisclosed amount of cash. It is suspected that one of the suspects bought a metal cutter on the same day of the robbery and he was captured on CCTV footage at Mica hardware, at the East gate Mall. According to the records of the mobile phone that was used the suspects might be from the Tembisa area.
