Media Statement GAUTENG - Johannesburg Flying Squad members arrested four suspects in separate incidents between Thursday, 30 April 2026 and Monday, 04 May 2026. On Thursday, 30 April 2026 at around 10:50 Johannesburg Flying Squad members arrested one suspect while conducting patrols around Cosmo City. The suspect was stopped and searched and found in possession of one plastic bag containing 23 packets of cocaine and 17 black plastics containing Nyaope (heroine) with an estimated street value of R2 000. The suspect was subsequently placed under arrest for possession of drugs. Later that day, at about 13:30, members were patrolling in Diepkloof Zone 5, at the corner of Ingwe Street and Ben Naude Drive, when they stopped and searched two men carrying a municipal streetlight. Both suspects were arrested for possession of suspected stolen property. In a separate incident on 02 May 2026, members arrested a man in Yeoville for possession of illicit cigarettes after he was found with 30 cartons. He was also charged with contravention of the Immigration Act after it was established that he was in the country illegally.
