Issued by the Police Ministry

In line with a commitment made by the Police Ministry, to improve policing and introduce interventions in areas affected by violent crime, the Police Minister General Bheki Cele will on Monday, 14 November 2022, lead a Ministerial Crime Prevention Imbizo in Finetown, south of Johannesburg.

The community engagement will see residents of Finetown and surrounding areas table their policing needs to the national and provincial management of the South African Police Service (SAPS). The SAPS and police ministry will use the Ministerial Crime Prevention Imbizo to outline short, medium and long term policing interventions to improve safety in the area and at the same time, promote and improve relations between police and the community at large.
