FAQ's: Right of appeal
Any person –
- whose application for a competency certificate, licence, permit or authorisation in terms of the Firearms Control Act, 2000 (Act No 60 of 2000) has been refused
- whose competency certificate, licence, permit or authorisation has been cancelled
- whose licence, permit or authorisation has been issued subject to any condition
- who has received a notice of an administrative decision in terms of the Firearms Control Act, 2000, which may detrimentally affect his/her rights,
may appeal to the Appeal Board.
How do I appeal?
- An appellant or a registered legal representative must lodge an appeal.
- The signature of the appellant must appear on the appeal.
- A SAPS 530 form must be completed and sent to Private Bag X353, Pretoria, 0001, or delivered to the ground floor, Veritas Building, Volkstem Avenue, Pretoria, 0001.
- The Central Firearms Registrar will send the appeal to the Appeal Board.
