Mthatha police are investigating an inquest docket after a 48-year-old father shot and killed his two daughters, aged 6 and 8 years and his 9- year-old son before shooting himself at his home in Northcrest in Mthatha last night.

All the bodies were discovered this morning by one of the deceased's family member who alerted the police. Motive for the killing is unknown and their names will be withheld until their next of kin are informed.
