KWAZULU-NATAL:   Members of the Hawks Serious Corruption Unit in Durban have arrested one public prosecutor and two policemen for alleged corruption as well as defeating the ends of justice which allegedly occurred at Hlanganani Magistrates’ Court in August 2016.

The three allegedly received a bribe for the release of a suspect without trial. An intensive investigation was instituted and the Hawks' preliminary investigation indicated that there was foul play. Today the three suspects aged 33, 42 and 43 were arrested. They were charged for corruption and defeating the ends of justice.

They are due to appear in the Hlanganani Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 3 March 2017.
