Western Cape: This morning at approximately11:20 Athlone police responded to a tipoff regarding the illegal possession of crayfish at a residence in Bokmakierie Athlone. The residence was visited and a search led to the discovery of 1504 units of crayfish with a street value of R 40 000. The suspect, a 32 year old male was arrested and he is due to make a court appearance in Athlone on Monday. The circumstances surrounding the matter is still under investigation.
