The Police in Mahwelereng outside Mokopane are investigating a case of culpable homicide which occurred along the N11 near Ga-Machikiri village outside Mahwelereng yesterday afternoon.

The police’s preliminary investigations have revealed that three motor vehicles collided when one vehicle was overtaking and it ultimately collided head on with the oncoming one killing four people instantly and the fifth one was certified dead on arrival at the hospital, all the deceased are men and from one vehicle and four are from one family.  The driver from the other vehicle was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

In the third car no injuries were sustained.

The deceased were identified as: William Baloyi (47) from Ga-Molekane village, Phinias Masenya (30) from Ga-Molekane village, Hezekiel Baloyi (53) from Ga-Molekane village, Raymond Mamabolo (40) from Armoede village and Steven Ramotshela (43) who died in Mokopane hospital.

The cause of this accident is unknown but the police investigations are still continuing.
