The Limpopo police condemn crimes against women

Media Statement from Limpopo Media Centre
Corporate Communication and Liaison
South African Police Service

The South African Police Services in this Province would like to condemn in the strongest possible terms the continuous attacks on women originating from various ways including domestic violence.

This heinous tendency must come to an end abruptly and if any couple experience any form of domestic related dispute, they must consult the Police, Social workers or any other relevant authorities for intervention rather than killing each other.

This condemnation is emanating from the arrest of a 43-year-old man for the brutal killing of his wife last night at Muledzhi village in the Mutale Policing area outside Thohoyandou.

It is alleged that the suspect had a domestic dispute with his wife Takalani Siala aged 37, at their home and subsequently started chopping her with a sharp instrument throughout her body cutting her head from the body. The Police were notified after the incident, reacted swiftly and arrested the suspect.

The suspect will appear before Mutale Magistrates’ Court tomorrow on a charge of murder.

The Police investigations are still continuing.
