The Police in various parts of the North West were out in numbers in the past week, between 03 and 10 November 2013. They arrested a total of 757 suspects for Contact crimes, Contact related, Property related crimes as well as trio crimes.

 

The arrested suspects include 14 for Murder, 178 for Assault GBH and Assault Common, 29 for rape, 12 Robbery Aggravating, 31 for driving under the influence of liquor  and 28 undocumented persons.

 

Police also managed to confiscate and recover 3 cell phones, 5 firearms and 1 vehicle during operations.

 

Most of the suspects have already appeared before courts while others are expected to appear before various courts on Monday, 11 November 2013.

 

Itsoseng:   The Police of Itsoseng are investigating a case of murder.  It is alleged that in the early hours of today, 10 November 2013, a 63-year-old woman stabbed her 35-year-old lover with a knife.   

 

It is alleged that the child of the suspect found the deceased lying outside in a pool of blood, when he asked his mother what happened, she fled the scene.  The victim died on the scene.

The suspect was later arrested and she will appear in Itsoseng Magistrates' court on Monday, 11 November 2013.

 

Ikageng: Police in Ikageng have registered a case of murderThis came after a wife (42) stabbed her husband (51) with a knife on the left side of his chest yesterday, 09 November 2013 at about 09:15 at a location called Promosa.

 

It is alleged that the victim was playing pool and the suspect sent their child to collect money from his father.  The victim gave the child the money.  After a while the suspect came to the victim and called him outside, where she immediately stabbed him with a knife.  The deceased bled profusely and died at the scene.

 

The suspect was arrested and she will appear on Monday, 11 November at the Potchefstroom Magistrates' Court.
