South African Police Service

On Monday, 19 February 2018, SAPS members received information from a reliable source regarding the selling of drugs. Information indicated that the suspects were trying to sell a brick of drugs to a dealer.

The information was followed up and after confirmation, the K9, NIU and Krugersdorp Detectives were called in.

An intelligence driven operation was launched. After careful observation the two alleged suspects were seen in the area of West Village Krugersdorp.

SAPS members accosted the suspects and one of the suspects dropped a brown parcel. Upon investigation a crystal-like substance was found inside the parcel. It was indicated that the substance could possibly be drugs.

The two suspects, aged 22 and 25, were detained at Krugersdorp SAPS.  The suspects will appear at Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court.

West Rand Cluster Commander Major General Kekana applauded all the members involved in the operation and the involvement of the community who trust the police with information of this nature.
