The arrested suspect in this matter ,Ronald Chisana from Mambedi Valdezia outside Thohoyandou have today appeared before the Vuwani Magistrate Court on a charge of possession of suspected stolen vehicles. His case was postponed until 23 April 2018 for further Police investigations with no bail. In the Levubu Policing area outside Thohoyandou, a sting operation was conducted after a tip-off from members of the Community on a motor vehicle theft syndicate which is operating from various Provinces. In the process of following the tracks of this syndicate, a 3-year-old man was arrested for possession of suspected stolen motor vehicles at Mashau Thenga village.
During the arrest, the following were recovered: These trucks are estimated at about R24 million and the preliminary Police investigations have revealed that they were stolen in other Provinces and they were allegedly en-route to be smuggled out of the country. The origin of these trucks is still being determined through the ongoing Police investigations. -End-
