Media Statement from Eastern Cape Media Centre Uitenhage: Detectives from SAPS Kwanobuhle arrested a 26-year-old male on a charge of murder, following the senseless murder of a 44-year-old male last night, Saturday, 21 April 2018. It is alleged that the victim was taken to a hospital in Kwanobuhle last night, at about 21:00, with multiple stab wounds. The victim was allegedly stabbed by the suspect, after they had an argument. The reason for the murder is unknown at this stage. The victim, Thandikhaya Links succumbed to his injuries. Detectives from SAPS Kwanobuhle and forensics combed for clues and followed up on leads to ensure that the offender was brought to book. The team worked tirelessly following up information which led to the arrest of the suspect this morning, Sunday, 22 April 2018 at 07:00 at a residence in Gawulayo Street, Kwanobuhle. This arrest is in line with the organisational objectives of the SAPS and the expectations of the communities we serve. The suspect is due to appear in the Kwanobuhle Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, 24 April 2018 on a charge of murder.
