As part of Back to Basic two suspect’s age between 37 yrs old and 38 yrs old respectively were arrested for possession of illicit drugs.

It is alleged two (2) members attached at Aliwal North K9 Unit, Warrant Officer Phuthumani and Sergeant Schoeman were on duty performing crime prevention patrol at Maletswai precinct sector 2 Block G.

It is during this time when they received positive information about two suspects in possession of illicit drugs at a certain house.

Two suspects were apprehended for possession of 4 drugs namely 2 star and two boss weight 0;014 kg with value of R 400.00. Both suspects will appear in court soon facing charge of possession of drugs.

Maletswai Station Commander, Lt Col Moses Covane congratulated the members of K9 Unit for effecting this arrest. He further reaffirmed the commitment he made earlier on local radio station Takalani FM that he will make sure that he will remove the illicit drugs from the streets of Maletswai so that communities can be free from drugs.
