Two men nabbed for possession of unlicensed firearms in Pretoria

Police members attached to the Crime Prevention Unit were on routine patrols around 19:00 conducting stop and search duties when they spotted two suspicious men walking along Sisulu Street. Upon noticing the Police they fled on foot and a chase ensued until they were cornered and arrested at corner Sisulu and Pretorius Streets.

Police recovered two 9mm firearms and two pairs of hand gloves, the men are aged between 30 to 40 years.

However the police investigation is continuing to establish whether this suspects are linked with other criminal activities in and around Pretoria. The suspects will be profiled.

A case of possession of unlicensed firearm is opened at Pretoria Central SAPS for further police investigation and they will appear before Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 14 May 2018.
