GAUTENG - On Wednesday, 11 June, Benoni Flying Squad members arrested six suspects and recovered three firearms.

At around 14:45, members received a complaint of business robbery at a factory in North Road, Glen Marais. Upon arrival, they were met by Mamba security at the gate where one (01) suspect was immediately detained and found in possession of an unlicensed firearm.

Members entered the premises with EMPD officers and in the factory arrested another five (05) suspects. Members continued the search, which led to the recovery of two (02) more firearms and an undisclosed amount of cash taken from the company safe. Employee cell phones and jewellery were also recovered.

One (01) firearm with seventeen (17) live rounds of ammunition was tested and came out reported stolen on a Barrage case from May 2025.

Investigation continues.

The suspects aged 33 to 43 years will be appearing in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court facing charges of business robbery and possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
