Today, 4 March 2014, 26 year-old Ntokoza Ndlovu, pleaded guilty to rape and kidnapping charges and was sentenced to life imprisonment by Nongoma Regional Court. On Sunday, 2 March 2014, the 18 year-old victim was on her way home from school when she was approached by the accused. He forced her into a forest and raped her several times at knife point. Ndlovu instructed the victim to call her mother telling her that she was dying; he then strangled her with a charger cord. But the victim managed to escape and reported the incident to her mother.

A case of rape and kidnapping was then opened at Nkandla SAPS and it was investigated by Eshowe Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit. Through the investigation by the Eshowe FCS, the suspect was arrested on the following day of the incident and was positively identified by the victim.

The speedy arrest, conviction and the maximum sentence meted out by the Court is commended and will aptly send a stern message to like-minded criminals that the FCS Units in the KwaZulu-Natal province will thoroughly investigate the sexual-related cases and send the offenders to long term imprisonment, said The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni.
