FREE STATE - The Phuthaditjhaba Tactical Response Team (TRT) engaged in a self-initiated operation and arrested a suspect with an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

The members received information about a suspect who was alleged to be in possession of a firearm. The information led the members to an identified address at intabazwe Harrismith where an occupant was found and searched.

An unlicensed firearm with two magazines and six live rounds was found in his possession.

The 42-year-old suspect was arrested and is expected to appear before the Harrismith Magistrate court on Friday 06 August 2021 on a charge of possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
